Our organic vegan dairy-free coconut milk powder is one of our best selling products. We’re sure it’s because many people are now realising how perfect coconut milk powder is as a dairy-free alternative in many recipes. What’s more, we know many cafes are now using it in their recipes and punters want to mimic this at home.

However, do you know just how versatile this product really is? Here we dive in to a few suggestions of what you can do with coconut milk powder with delicious results.

Some recipes (particularly cakes and breads) will call for coconut milk powder exactly how it comes out of the packet. Perfect, simple stuff.

However, organic vegan dairy-free coconut milk powder can also be used to make both a milk and cream consistency. It really can replace the coconut milk or cream that you usually buy in a can.

How to make coconut milk and coconut cream from coconut milk powder

It’s very simple. You simply mix the coconut milk powder with hot water and stir well. The more water you add, the more ‘milk’ like the consistency will be. Use less water and you’ll achieve a thicker cream.

So whether you’re using it straight from the packet, or made up as a milk or cream, what sorts of recipes work well with coconut milk powder?

Recipes with dairy-free coconut milk powder

If it’s a recipe where you’d use coconut milk or cream, then you can use our organic vegan dairy-free coconut milk powder. This makes it particularly ideal for curries, sauces and soups.

We particularly love a Thai Green Veggie Curry made using baby corn, sugar snaps, tender stem broccoli and asparagus. Even better, serve it up with some coconut jasmine rice. Rinse the rice before you start. Then bring 1 cup of rice to the boil in 1.5 cups water made up with 2 tsps of coconut milk powder. Cover and simmer without stirring.

If you’re a baker then coconut milk powder puts you back in the kitchen, even when you’re going dairy-free. From lime and coconut cakes through to basic breads and morning pancakes, you can experiment with ease.

Want to save the pancakes for the weekend? Or fed up with bland dairy-free porridge options? It’s time to try our coconut, raspberry and walnut porridge. Thank us later, but your mornings just got way better.

Even if you’re not the most confident of cooks, you can use coconut milk powder to bring a creamy texture and taste to smoothies and drinks such as hot chocolate or turmeric latte. Why not try out our coconut milk shake with strawberries and coconut nectar?

We’ve even seen our organic vegan dairy-free coconut milk powder used in some delicious cheeky coconut ice. Who said you can’t be a little bit naughty whilst being good?
